For my senior project I explored the field of child education. It was a good way for me to start thinking about what I want to be when i persue a career, it also made me step out of my comfort zone. I also had to learn new communication skilss, I'm not a good person to communicate with others especially when I'm not sure about something.
For the hours I did i had to collaborate with the lady that I had to work with and it was an amazing apportunity because she actually gave me great advice on how I should approach the children. With her at my side we came up with new ideas to help the children with their homework, not just math but with sight words and diffrent activities that they were given.
Some challenges I faced with this project was that I had to reach further then my comfort zone, as I tend to be very shy and conservative. This project helped me get out there and the lady I was working with made me read infront of the class, eventhough they were just second graders and their parents I got very nervous and it did help for a little. I had to talk to Ms P to help me overcome those fears.
This project helped me grow more as a person,because at first I didn't think I was going to be able to do this project I got my self esteem higher, also socially a learned how to approach the kids and their parents I know how to make conversation with them. I fained a lot of intellegence because working with the kids I got to use my creativity to come up with new games to help the children with any subject they were having trouble with.I have grown a lot since the beginning of this project because I used to think that this project wasn't going to help at all decide on what I wanted to do when I persued a career but in reality it did help me see that even though working with children isn't easy it is defenetly something I want to do later on in life.

Today was a fun day with the kids, it was my first time reading to them as a class but it was fun. We asked them what they wanted to be when they grew up, of course they all had diffrent answers so what we are going to do is print out little stuff that relate to them and have them do a little report on them. It was a fun day at the CLC.

Today was a busy day, especially because we decorated a board for the kids to have a challenge between them so they could memorize their sight words. After that we made sure all their homework was done and Mr.Gabriel read them a story and the activity for today was to write a story using their imagination on continuing to write from a little starter we had for them.

Since Monday we didn't have class the kids were kimd of tired and they didn't have much homework. Since they are working on time, we decided to make an activity mmd make them tell us a time that was on the paper we passed out. They are really good at telling time, just that sometimes they get confused at which cand is the time and which one is the minute hand. We didn't do much today that was it

Today was the secomd day with the second graders. It was really fun we got to interact with them, we did the usual. We helped them with their math and we did story time. We try to keep the thimgs they did in their other classroom so they won't get confused. And today for the activity we had the sentence machine, which was basically we give two words and the kids have to come up with a sentence with a minimum of 4-9 words. We do this because some teachers give them spelling tests on Thursdays or Fridays.So that was all we did.

Today was a slow day for us and the kids, it was like a get to know eachother. Because since our kinder and first grade class was getting too big we switched classes. Now I'm working with second graders, and since its the first time we see eachother it was just a fun time learning time math. I think this group will be just as fun as our other group.

Today was a fun day with the kids. Turns out that we got 4 new families with us and since our group is growing we are going to be moving into a new room with more tables and chairs for the kids and the parents. Since today was the first day for many kids in our program, we did simple things. Like for example we played a game where the kids,myself, and another volunteer had a number taped to our back and they would add the numbers. For example 2+3=5, the kids had to write the equation like they saw it on the board. We introduced our selfs to the parents and the kids, amd I'm pretty sure things will be much better because now there are more kids to help woth their math and other homework. Our family is just getting bigger!!

So today was the first day back with the kids, since we didn't have a lot of kids we combined classrooms from the beginning. Since there were 5 of us helpers and only 4 little ones me amd this other girl decorated three cups labled: movie tickets, target, and BR (baskin robbing). It's a way to motivate the kids to do their homework. The time with the kids go by so fast, that was all we did with them.
